Prothioconazole 250g/L EC is a systemic fungicide from the triazolinthione class, known for its broad-spectrum activity against a wide range of fungal diseases. Its mechanism of action involves inhibiting the enzyme C14-demethylase, which is crucial for the biosynthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes. By disrupting ergosterol production, Prothioconazole weakens the fungal cell membranes, leading to cell death and effective disease control.
Prothioconazole 250g/L EC is particularly effective against diseases like septoria leaf blotch, rusts, powdery mildew, and fusarium head blight. It is widely used on cereals, oilseeds, and other crops, providing both preventive and curative protection.
