Prochloraz 450 g/l ec is a broad-spectrum fungicide that belongs to the imidazole class. Its mechanism of action primarily involves inhibiting the biosynthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes. By blocking the production of ergosterol, Prochloraz disrupts the integrity and function of the fungal cell membrane, leading to the leakage of cell contents and eventually causing the death of the fungal cells.
This mode of action makes Prochloraz 450 g/l ec effective against a wide range of fungal diseases, including those caused by Ascomycetes, Basidiomycetes, and Deuteromycetes. It is particularly effective against diseases like leaf spots, fruit rots, and powdery mildew in various crops such as cereals, fruits, vegetables, and ornamentals.
